- Grew up in Kailua and attended a school with mandatory French lessons until 4th grade. Currently knows no French. May not have ever known any French.
- Played on a Punahou tennis team that won 22 straight state championships. Managed to not blow the win streak.
- Took 5 calculus classes during 4-year career at UCSD. 5 more than he will ever need.
- Put obscure sounding Management Science degree to use by securing a marketing and project management job in LA.
- Scoffed at the prospect of employee benefits and financial security and quit his job for a lifetime of risk and judgment and became a photographer.
- Realized how much better it is to live in Hawaii than LA and here we are.
